eCommerce design & art direction for oh-so-clever stationary

BusyB are a start-up stationary company – priding themselves on creating useful products which keep you organised and save you time. As a newly formed brand, the website had to combine eCommerce store and brand experience.

Launching the website as a new brand, the website would be the first interaction with the brand – as a result we wanted to make sure the website embodied the character and emotion of this delightful new brand.

A bright, diverse colour palette and typography, illustations, textures and patterns means the website is full of the character of the BusyB brand.

Styleboard of modular objects and elements

We used a styleboard, to define design direction. This approach helps us to designing individual aspects which would appear across the whole site, without getting bogged down by designing individual screens.

Once the route had been defined, we then upkeep the styleboard as a living document – using it to define the different states of individual items. As the project progresses this can then be used as a reference for each item that needs to be developed.

Hotspot hero imagery

Using the photography we produced in a series of on-location photoshoots, we made the hero imagery interactive by including clickable 'hotspots' that allowed users to interact with the products.
